Bob the Bobcat
(Boeckman Creek Elementary School)
A big part of my work's purpose is to have a
lasting impression on people, so being able
to work on something that kids will see for
generations to come is huge for me. I
created this new logo/mascot alongside
a creative director whose children are
actually attending this school so it makes it
extra special to be able to do something like
this for someone who has taught me so
much. This experience matured me a lot as a
designer and more so as an artist. It taught
me how to better prepare better when
dealing with clients, the professional
standards to meet when presenting work,
and how much I still need to learn. My
skills are always going to be something
have to refine and expand.

This logo is reminiscent of vintage college
mascots fused with inspiration from the 30s
cartoons. A mixture of cute and tough, I
wanted this mascot to have a personality
that seemed approachable and charismatic.
The cuteness of his sweater and fluffy feet
are met with the fierceness of his little
fangs. We also tried to give this mascot a bit
of movement so he could be applicable to
different situations. Rather than have him
be this static figure, he could be a dynamic
character that's full of life. While we tried
many different variations of the bobcat, the
roundness and fulness of this versions
features made him more youthful compared
to the skinny and sharp alternates that
gave off a less innocent vibe.
